2025 A Year in Review

2025 A Year in Review

31.12.2025

TLDR; Documenso leveled up and 2025 was a huge year.

As 2025 comes to a close, I want to pause and reflect on what has been our most exciting year so far at Documenso. Momentum really compounded in 2025. We shipped relentlessly, grew the company, and made bets that clearly paid off.

Notable Numbers

• Crossed 40k signed documents early in the year and ended at roughly 400k documents by year end. A clean 10x.

• Grew to more than 34k users, with ~50 percent added in the second half of 2025.

• Crossed 340 paying customers.

• Hit 10k GitHub stars.

• Launched organizations alongside a full enterprise feature and compliance set.

Monthly Highlights

January

We kicked off the year by shipping API v2. This set the technical foundation for everything platform related that followed and unlocked more serious integrations.

February

Documenso crossed 40k signed documents. It was an early signal that usage was accelerating in a very real way.

March

We completed the move away from Next.js. This improved performance, simplified development, and positioned us well for future growth.

April

The GitHub community pushed us past 10k stars. This milestone meant a lot to the team and reinforced the strength of our open source roots.

May

We released Documenso v1.10.0 with Dictate the Next Signer, Embedded Authoring, and Folders. These features significantly improved more complex and integrated workflows.

June

Organizations launched and changed how teams collaborate inside Documenso. This quickly became a core building block for larger customers and our push towards enterprise.

July

We crossed 20k users and continued refining organizations. Real world feedback helped us tighten permissions and improve usability.

August

Organizations matured further with better structure and internal tooling. This month was all about stability and scale. We kicked off our enterprise sprint to make Documenso enterprise ready, including SSO, whitelabeled email domains, and advanced compliance.

September

We achieved SOC 2 compliance and launched enterprise self host options. This marked a clear step into serving serious enterprise customers.

October

We crossed 300 customers and onboarded larger, more complex accounts. Sales cycles grew longer, but deal sizes and customer quality increased dramatically.

November

Documenso 2.0 launched as a major milestone. It brought together years of learning into a more cohesive platform vision. We launched on PH and once again captured product of the day.

December

We launched AI-powered Auto Field placement and closed the year by crossing 30k users. We also hit roughly 400k documents, ending 2025 on a high note. Check out the launch video here: https://documen.so/magic

Looking Ahead to 2026

2025 proved that Documenso can scale as both a product and a platform. In 2026, we are doubling down on enterprise adoption, deeper integrations, and making Documenso the default signing layer in modern tech stacks.

We will continue investing in compliance, extensibility, and developer experience while staying true to our open roots.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported us this year. Users, customers, contributors, partners, and friends. We are grateful to be building this with you.

Here is to 2026 and pushing Documenso even further together.

Cheers from Hamburg
